Help, my drive d is inaccessable?

I am trying to burn some files onto a blank cd. These are from the same blank cds i have been using the past couple of days. Before when I placed a blank cd in the drive a pop up window would show up and ask if I wanted to open it a certain way ei. itunes, as a file, etc. Well today, that pop up window wouldn't show up. I tried to go through My Computer and open it and it said drive d is inaccessable. I put in an old cd to see if that would show up, and it did, so the drive is still reading disks. Does anyone know how to fix this problem? I tried more than one cd so it's not the cd. I tried to right click drive d and nothing will show up. I've tried restarting my computer and it still didn't work either. If you have any suggestions, can you please give me step by step directions. I'm not computer illiterate, but I'm not exactly computer savvy either.
