It sounds like a back injury or a kidney problem,The low temp is not a good sign.You know he needs a vet,but if you can't take him, (have you asked relatives/friends to loan you money?) you can try applying heat to the painful area,giving one buffered aspirin twice a day with food,and no stairs.Also,make sure he drinks plenty of water - give him warm chicken broth,beef broth,etc to get him to drink - in case there is a kidney problem.And cover him with a blanket to keep him warm. If you have a crate,confine him to it with warm bedding.If there is no improvement in 24 -48 hours,you really need to find some way to get him to a vet,
