What might this recurring dream mean. I'm really curious.?

I've had this dream for several years. For some reason, I'm trading in my car and getting another one. Right away, I realize I've made a huge mistake. the car I've traded for is definitely a lesser car than the one I had. I desperately want my car back and can't believe I traded it. Sometimes I even go back to the dealer to see if my car is Still there, but it's usually already been sold. It may sound like a trivial dream but the emotions are I know it doesn't really have anything at all to do with my car; it's symbolic for something but I don't know what. (I currently own a 2008 Acura Tsx and love it and I had this same dream when I was driving a older Nissan minivan which i also liked. So the dream really isn't about cars.) Again, the emotions in the dream are very strong and are those of regret, disbelief and a sense of desperation.
